Hannington Digital Switchover: It’s Coming!

The Hannington TV mast, which serves the Overton and Basingstoke area, will be switching to Digital next month. On Wednesday, 8th February, BBC Two analogue will be switched off and digital equipment will need to be retuned. The remaining analogue channels will be switched off on Wednesday 22nd February.

  • If you have an analogue television, your set will need to be converted or you will no longer receive any channels after switchover.
  • If you have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV, your digital box or TV will have to be retuned.
  • If you have Sky, Freesat or Virgin Media, you are unaffected by this, and no further action is needed.

The Switchover Help Scheme provides older and disabled people with everything they will need to switch to digital TV, including easy-to-use equipment, installation and a 12-month aftercare service for a cost of £40. To take advantage of this scheme, you need to be over 75 or have lived in a care home for more than six months or get certain disability benefits or be registered blind or partially sighted.

More information on the switchover is available from www.helpscheme.co.uk. If you have any questions, call 08456 505050 or visit www.digitaluk.co.uk
